Each variety has a distinct taste, shape and colour. The production of mangoes in India is around 15.03 million tons, contributing to 40.48% of the total world production of mango. Mango export from India has been increased by Rs. 209 crores in 2010-2011 from Rs 142 crores in 2006-200707. The Indian mango export has thus grown by 47%. ALPHONSO
Alphonso is one of the most popular varieties of mangoes worldwide. Native to Maharashtra, this variety is now also grown in Gujarat and some parts of Karnataka.it is a seasonal fruit available from around mid-April to the end of June. These mangoes have a juicy, rich and creamy texture. They have a natural distinct aroma, flesh is saffron-colored and without a hint of fiber.

KESAR
The Kesar mango variety of mangoes are also called ‘Gir Kesar’ is a mango cultivar grown in the foothills of Girnar in Gujarat. This variety was first cultivated by the Nawabs of Junagarh in 1931 and was named Kesar in 1934. It is known for its bright orange colored pulp which resembles saffron, the spice it is named after and smells like it too which is its most distinguishing characteristic. It is generally sold to the market in April and its cultivation begins around October after the monsoon season. It is mostly grown in and around Ahmedabad and Gujarat

SINDHURA

TOTAPURI

LANGRA
This variety of mangoes is also known as Banarasi Langra. Langra is a mango cultivar majorly grown in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This cultivar has a characteristic of retaining a greenish tinge while ripening and is oval shaped. DASHEHARI
Dashehari, also called Malihabadi is one of the most popular varieties of mango in the North of India. It is known for its exquisite taste and a pleasant aroma. It is said that 80% of varieties of mangos in North India is covered by ‘Dashehari’ and can be genetically traced back to this very plant. Lucknow, where it is mainly produced, the Dashehari mango variety was first cultivated in the garden of a Nawab in Lucknow about 200 years back. It is sweet with an exquisite taste and a strong aroma. It is fibre-less, and has a long, perfect shape. Bright yellow in colour. Apart from consuming raw, it is also used for making chutney and aam ras.

RAJAPURI

Rajapuri is the largest varieties of mangoes found in India which means its ideal to share with family. They are an attractive combination of smooth and unblemished yellow, orange and red skin. HIMSAGAR

CHAUSA

Badami is Karnataka’s leading mango variety and is best consumed from April to July.
